Darwin, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica player, was named the Liga Bwin. Best Forward of September. The Uruguay international received 23% of the votes of the head coaches in the competition.

In September, Benfica's number 9 played 233 minutes in the matches against Santa Clara (away), Boavista (home) and Vitória de Guimarães (away). In this game cycle, Darwin scored four goals (two against Santa Clara and two against Boavista).

Darwin was the most voted for Best Forward of September (23% of the votes), ahead of Luis Díaz from FC Porto (14%) and Gustavo Sauer from Boavista (13%).
