As part of the celebration of the 119th anniversary of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the Cosme Damião Awards Ceremony was held on Tuesday evening, February 28, to distinguish many of those who have elevated the name of the Club in 2022.

10:57 pm | All the Cosme Damião Awards for the year 2022 have been revealed and delivered.

10:55 pm | José Augusto gives the Award to Rafa, who expresses the personal and collective goal: "I thank the team, the coaching staff, now we have to keep working to at least win the 38th league title at the end of the season."

10:52 pm | THE WINNER OF THE MALE FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR AWARD IS RAFA! 

10:50 pm | Cristina Almeida and Mariana Chalana, widow and daughter, take the stage under much applause.

9:36 pm | "I'm a Benfiquista since I was born and this award means a lot! Six months ago, I didn't expect to be here receiving this award. I am lucky to represent Benfica at the highest level", claimed António Silva.

9:34 pm | ANTÓNIO SILVA WINS THE MALE FOOTBALL REVELATION AWARD!

9:30 pm | The Cosme Damião Awards are about to begin.

9:29 pm | Rui Costa, in a strong and emotional speech, dhighlights Benfica's eclecticism, the ambition to win "in whatever sport", leaving a guarantee: "We want a bigger and more eclectic Benfica! Our mission is to win, always win!"

9:20 pm | Sport Lisboa e Benfica's President, Rui Costa, delivers a speech.

9:19 pm | Sixteen prizes will be awarded.

9:17 pm | The Benfica Ceremony begins!

8:30 pm | For their performances over the past year, 29 candidates were on the ballot, spread across four categories: High Competition Athlete, Coach of the Year, Male Footballer of the Year, and Female Footballer of the Year. In addition to these awards, there will be awards handed out by direct nomination.
