The athlete of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Olympic Project Caio Bonfim won the world title in the 20-kilometer race walk, being the fastest in the distance at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

With a time of 1:18:35, the Brazilian beat his direct competition, leaving Chinese athlete Zhaozhao Wang (1:18:43) and Spanish athlete Paul McGrath (1:18:45) in 2nd and 3rd place on the podium, respectively.

This result adds to the silver medal in the 35-kilometer race walk, achieved days earlier, and confirms Caio Bonfim –who now has four medals won at World Championships –as the most decorated Brazilian ever in the history of the World Athletics Championships.
