Pavlidis
With the Gilistas in the lead from the 11th minute, the Greek striker scored the equalizer in the 18th minute, completing the comeback in the 26th minute.
Considering that the Eagles did not play “a good game,” Pavlidis acknowledged that, in the end, “the most important thing is the three points.”
“It was difficult. The second half was also very complicated, we couldn't attack as we wanted to. We didn't have the rhythm we always try to have, especially playing at home. We're happy with the three points, and we have to keep going, because we still have a lot of difficult games ahead of us,” he explained in statements to BTV.
1st GOAL BY PAVLIDIS
Applauded by the fans when he was substituted – João Veloso came on (90'+9') – Pavlidis emphasized that the whole team had to “run and cover miles.”
“Everyone has to work for the team. When we're not at our best, or we don't have as much confidence, we have to work twice as hard. Today was one of those days. The important thing was to secure the three points, regardless of each player's responsibilities,” said the Greek international, who has scored seven goals in 13 games.
2nd GOAL BY PAVLIDIS
Acknowledging that “the last three home games have not been good,” Pavlidis thanked Benfica fans for their support: "We want to thank our fans because they are always with us and supporting us, like today. I can promise, on behalf of the team, that we will all give 100% until the end. We fight for this club because that is what matters most to the club and the fans."
