José Mourinho was one of the speakers at the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Health & Performance Congress, held at Estádio da Luz, and, on the sidelines of the event, he praised the infrastructure and human capital he found at the Glorioso.

On the final day of an event dedicated to discussing relevant topics in sports medicine, sports nursing, sports physiotherapy, sports science, sports nutrition, and sports psychology, the coach of Benfica's professional football team began by highlighting the “sharing of knowledge and experiences” among professionals from various fields.
"Sharing. Sharing knowledge, sharing experiences. People who are experts in different areas of knowledge can exchange knowledge and experiences. Football is constantly evolving, especially off the pitch. Having these professionals from countless countries, with countless experiences, countless questions, and having this type of organization, I think it's fantastic for professionals and, above all, for young people who are still in that phase between what they have learned and what they have to put into practice. It's a good opportunity," he said in statements to BTV, on the sidelines of an event where he was one of the speakers at a panel entitled Thinking Outside the Box.
"Benfica is one of those clubs where you arrive with a small group of people, as was my case, and then you just have to build functional empathy and start working as a team, because, in fact, Benfica has everything"
José Mourinho
"And for Benfica, I think it's proof, once again, of the level they're at. It's not because I'm now with Benfica; I said it a couple of months ago when I was their opponent. I said that Benfica is a giant club, and now that I'm on the inside, Benfica never ceases to amaze me," added José Mourinho.
Finally, the Eagles' coach revealed that he had found a “fantastic club” with “everything” a coach and a football team could need, both in terms of infrastructure and human capital.
"Honestly, what you hear is one thing, but what you see, feel, and experience on a daily basis is another. The physical structure is one thing, but the human structure is another. Obviously, we heard a lot about Seixal as a structure, but it really is a fantastic club, with everything a coach and a football team could possibly need. I always say: I like to go to clubs with few people and understand their needs, and then decide or request more support at different levels. Benfica is one of those clubs where you arrive with a small group of people, as was my case, and then you just have to build functional empathy and start working as a team, because, in fact, Benfica has everything," he concluded.
