Barreiro was part of Luxembourg's starting eleven, which faced Germany at home on Matchday 9 of Group A, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. At the Luxembourg Stadium, the Benfica midfielder played the full game in the 0-2 defeat.
Also on Matchday 9, but in Group L, at the Rujevica Stadium, Ivanovic was an unused substitute in Croatia's 3-1 victory over the Faroe Islands, a result that secured the Balkan team's qualification for the World Cup.
