On Friday, November 14, three players from Benfica's professional football squad competed for their national teams.

Barreiro was part of Luxembourg's starting eleven, which faced Germany at home on Matchday 9 of Group A, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. At the Luxembourg Stadium, the Benfica midfielder played the full game in the 0-2 defeat.

Also on Matchday 9, but in Group L, at the Rujevica Stadium, Ivanovic was an unused substitute in Croatia's 3-1 victory over the Faroe Islands, a result that secured the Balkan team's qualification for the World Cup.

A starter for the Spanish U21 team, Obradormade the final pass to Virgili, who shot from outside the area to open the scoring in the expressive 7-0 victory over San Marino on Matchday 6 of Group A, in the Euro 2027 qualifiers, played at the Anxo Carro Stadium in Lugo. The Benfica left-back played the entire match.

Playing for the Portuguese Under-20 team, João Veloso was a starter, being substituted in the 66th minute in the friendly against Italy. At the Stadio dei Pini Torquato Bresciani in Viareggio, the match ended with a 1-2 victory for Portugal.
