One month after winning the silver medal at the Baku Grand Prix, Rochele Nunes, a judoka from Benfica, won the gold medal in the +78 kg category at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, October 26.

Rochele Nunes (Benfica judoka): "I'm very happy with this result, which brings me closer to the Olympic Games in Paris. I knew the athlete I faced in the final well, but there was a bit more pressure because it was a medal bout.Fortunately, the strategy agreed with the coaching staff worked, and I put on one of the best fights of the day. Now I have a big goal, which is to become European champion. This victory gives me more confidence to achieve that goal."
