Betinho Gomes and Eduardo Francisco, players from Benfica's professional basketball team, have been called up by the Cape Verde and Angola national teams, respectively, for AfroBasket 2025, a tournament that will take place between August 12 and 24.

As part of the Cape Verde national team, Betinho Gomes will face Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda in Group A of the tournament.

Eduardo Francisco will represent host Angola and has matches scheduled against South Sudan, Guinea, and Libya in Group C.
