Agreement signed
This will be the first of several schools to be launched in Casablanca and several other cities in Morocco.
The agreement was formalized in Lisbon during a meeting between Benfica's Director of International Expansion, Bernardo Faria de Carvalho, and local partner DK Sports, represented by Khalid Chagna. With a population of around 12 million, Casablanca stands out for its enormous growth potential, especially in a context of growing interest in football.
The Benfica School in Casablanca aims to be a center of excellence for developing young athletes, offering high-quality sports facilities that will enable them to develop using the Benfica methodology.
To ensure supervision of the project, the Club will send a coordinator who will reside in Casablanca, who will closely monitor operations and maintain the high standard of quality of the activities.
With a focus on the growth of football in North Africa and the approach of the 2030 World Cup, SL Benfica is reinforcing its strategy to increase its presence in Morocco and is keeping in touch with a new generation of talent.
The expansion also aims to strengthen the Club's relationship with Moroccan fans and track the impact of football in the country as the World Cup approaches.
The opening of the School represents another step forward in SL Benfica's commitment to promoting sport and contributing to the development of football in different parts of the world.
