Benfica's men's roller hockey team won the Elite Cup for the 3rd consecutive season after beat Sporting in the final, by 2-4, this Sunday, September 28, at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Odivelas.

Before the cup was presented, individual awards were handed out: Roberto Di Benedetto was voted MVP of the competition and was named to the tournament's ideal five alongside Conti Acevedo and Nil Roca. Zé Miranda, with three goals, received the award for top scorer.

Having won the 3rd Elite Cup for the Benfica Museum– Cosme Damião, Benfica will now face the start of the National Championship: they will host Turquel on October 12 (Sunday) at Pavilhão Fidelidade, starting at 7:00 pm, in a match from round 1 of the regular season.

Champions League: heading to London with high expectations

The Benfica team departed on Monday, September 29, from Humberto Delgado Airport bound for London, where they will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday in a match from round 2 of the Champions League. The red delegation was led by President Rui Costa, who reaffirmed the club's European ambition to the media: “[Our expectations] are always the same: to win. It's not an easy game, but we're going there to get a good result, obviously.”

Caetana's dream!

Caetana, 12, lives in the Algarve and never misses a Benfica game. Her dream of watching a match at Estádio da Luz came true thanks to an initiative by Benfica Foundationand Professional Football, after the Benfica-Gil Vicente (2-1), on Friday, September 26, on matchday 7 of the Liga Betclic.  One of the most special moments was interacting with her idol Otamendi and coach José Mourinho. With her autographed Glorioso jersey, the young fan returned home with memories of an unforgettable day!
