STATEMENTS

It was Dedic who broke the deadlock in Benfica's 3-0 win over Tondela, in Matchday 3 of the Liga Betclic, on Saturday night, August 23. A solid performance – highlighted by his assist to Ivanovic – on the right side of a defense that has now recorded six consecutive clean sheets earned the Bosnia-Herzegovina international the Man of the Match award.

“I'm very happy with the award, but first and foremost with the victory, with the team, because we won, that's the most important thing. As I said, I'm very happy and grateful, and we're moving forward", Dedic began by saying in a flash interview with BTV.

Benfica's schedule is relentless, and the man of the match has already set his sights on the knockout match against Fenerbahçe, which, in four days' time, will decide who qualifies for the Champions League.

“Yes, it's very difficult now, we have a lot of games, but we're ready for it, we've recovered well and we'll be well prepared to play on Wednesday. It's very important for us and for the fans, and we can't wait,” said the right-back.
