"We have always believed"

"It was a tough game against a good opponent. I think we stayed in the game and always believed that we could turn around. Especially in the second part, I felt that we had a good chance, and we had some good opportunities. Maybe I could have scored, I had good chances on two occasions, so I have to do better. We always believed in the second part that we could turn around, and I think we played a good game against a good opponent, but in the end it wasn’t enough. [Lose without giving up] We always stayed in the game. I think it was good that we always believed we could turn around, but of course it was disappointing to lose the game. I felt that we could have managed to get something out of here. [Duels in the midfield] They come in with the full-back too, so they have a lot of players inside when we defend, but we changed a little at halftime and I think we went up a bit, which was better for us. We put a little more pressure on them... small margins. [The Benfiquistas] They are amazing. You can see how many Benfica fans are here in London tonight. They supported us very well today, we were sorry and gave us a boost so it was very good."

LUKEBAKIO

"Mostrámos uma boa imagem"

"We knew it would be a tough game, but I think we had a great performance. Of course we wanted to win. Playing like this and not getting the 3 points is painful, as it was today, but I think we took positive things for the next games. We must win on Sunday. [Subbed off in the 77th minute]  I tried my best. I’m feeling good, but in the final part, I felt some difficulties. I gave everything of myself, I gave my best. That’s the best way to gain shape. Of course I wanted to help the team win today. It didn’t happen, unfortunately, but I’m sure the next games will be positive. We showed a good image. We have to go ahead and believe in us for the next games.  [Fans support despite defeat] We need them. I really want to thank you, because they gave us a lot of strength. It means a lot to see them after the game, it means a lot to us. We will try to win the next game against FC Porto for them, because they are really amazing. We believe, they believe, so it’s just positive."

TRUBIN

"Focus on the next game"

"I think we could have done a lot better, especially in the first half. We felt that we could have achieved something more, but this is football, and we need to play from the first minute. So that’s it. We need to focus on the next game. [What’s left to play in the Champions League calendar] We will play game to game. We will recover and focus on the next game. We will focus on the Portuguese league, and after the international break, we will have Newcastle, and we will try to win the game. [Clássico against FC Porto] They are completely different games, with two completely different teams. FC Porto have 7 wins in 7 games, so we will focus on our game, our mistakes today, the good things we did and we will fight. [Are you enjoying working with José Mourinho?] Sure, sure. We don’t have much time, but of course he’s a special coach. He has a lot of experience and we want to bring his expertise to our team."
