English team in the International Futsal Program

This week, which began on October 28, Benfica held another International Futsal Program, hosting the U-13 and U-15 teams of the English club A Star Futsal Club, from north-east London.

It was a complete program, where the young players had the opportunity to experience the Benfica methodology - led by top professional coaches - and to get up close and personal with the Club's first team, made up of internationally renowned athletes.

English coach Matt Myszkowski considered the experience “remarkable”, highlighting the “intensity and technical-tactical knowledge acquired with the Benfica coaches”, which made these days “unforgettable for the young futsal players”.

Raul Moreira, Benfica's futsal sports coordinator, has from the outset shown total openness to hosting international teams and supporting initiatives that enhance the Club. “Being able to take the best of what we do to the four corners of the world reinforces the message of promoting futsal, both nationally and internationally,” he said.

The coordinator also expressed his desire to “see pavilions full and to inspire the next generations to dream of wearing the Sacred Mantle, whether they are national players or from other countries, because Benfica is a universal club”.
