The Eco Center is composed of 3 compactors for plastic, paper and cardboard, and undifferentiated waste, and has enabled around 1200 tons of waste to be sent for recycling.
The separation at source rate of approximately 90% of all waste produced contributes greatly to this.
Even so, all the waste delivered to our Eco Center is carefully checked, and the correct sorting is guaranteed before being forwarded for treatment.
The Eco Center is, unquestionably, a success story.
Over the years of operation, there have been several visits from schools and other entities that include environmental sustainability in their educational project, with the aim of verifying SLB's good practices.
Recycling has environmental and economic advantages, since many materials can be recovered. Thus, the need for consumption of natural resources and raw materials is reduced. On the other hand, the amount of municipal solid waste going to landfills is also reduced.
