ECO Benfica - Underground water Project

There are 3 artesian holes at Benfica Campus which aggregate water quality control equipment, enabling the irrigation of the 9 existent football fields, gardens and remaining green spaces (to complement the rainwater coming from the lagoon).

These holes enable thus the irrigation of an area about 56.000 m² of pitches and 16.000m² of green spaces.

It should be also mentioned that a large proportion of this water returns to the soil by natural drainage and the rest is directed to the lagoon.
