Benfica's Álvaro Carreras has been named Defender of the Month in the Betclic 2024/25 League for March. The Eagles' No. 3 received the most votes from the competition's managers, with a total of 18.52%. In 2nd place was Otamendi, Glorioso's captain (17.78%).

The Spanish left-back started in the three games the Reds played and won in the league in March, against Nacional (home), Rio Ave (away) and Gil Vicente (away). Álvaro Carreras played 270 minutes.
