HIGHLIGHTS

She arrived at Benfica in 2019 and, in almost six full seasons at the club, Nycole Raysla has helped the Inspiradoras to win many trophies, and is currently one of the four-time national champions, on her way to completing the penta. The Brazilian forward formalized the extension of her contract with the Reds and spoke with emotion about this “privilege”.

“It's an immense joy, it's an immense pleasure to be able to continue with the eagle on my chest. It's a great joy,” said Nycole Raysla, speaking to BTV. He added: “Benfica has given me great things, and it's a huge privilege for me to be able to continue making history with this club.

Benfica's many achievements, to which she has actively contributed, are a source of pride for the forward, who doesn't intend to stop winning over the next few years of her contract.

At Benfica, we have to have the ambition to win everything we have to win. So it can't be a different mindset. During all my years here, we've always been very successful, and I hope that, in the coming years, we can continue to win as many titles as possible”, said the eagles' number 9.

And Nycole Raysla knows all about titles and trophies won. She has been part of Benfica's women's soccer project since the team was promoted to the top flight. In other words, she is linked not only to the 4 National Championships won, but also to the 1 Portuguese Cup, the 5 League Cups and the 3 Super Cups added by the red team to the Cosme Damião Museum's collection.

As for his promises to the Benfiquistas, they are to work as hard as he can so that he can repay all the love they have given him.

"A lot of commitment and dedication. Just as I've received a lot of support from the fans, they can always count on me too. Scoring [goals] is very important, but more than that it's being able to contribute to the team and to achieving the final goals," said Nycole Raysla.

The next goal is to secure the fifth national championship, which could be achieved as early as Saturday, April 12, at Valadares Gaia. One point is enough to seal the deal in Benfica's favor, but winning is the verb to conjugate, as the Brazilian points out.

“We're thinking about Saturday, winning the three points and becoming champions. And then, obviously, we're thinking about the Portuguese Cup, because if we have titles to fight for, we have to fight to win them all,” said the forward, who this season and in the Liga BPI has played in all 19 games for the Inspiradoras, totaling 1237 minutes on the pitch and scoring 4 goals.

Nycole Raysla

In her six years at Benfica, Nycole Raysla has gained a special passion for the Glorioso, a passion that she promises to carry with her forever, wherever she is: “As a Brazilian, I wasn't born a Benfiquista, but over all these years I can be absolutely sure that I'll leave here a Benfiquista, because the support that the fans have given me, that the club has given me, is a gratitude that I'll have forever, every day of my life.

The forward left a special word of thanks to those same Benfica fans who have pushed the various Benfica teams so hard throughout the seasons and wherever Filipa Patão's team goes.

"It's incredible to see the passion that the fans have for the whole club, both the sports and the football. And to feel the fans up close is incredible, and it's a love I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. I'd like to thank the Benfica fans for all their support so far and say that they can expect the best from me," she concluded .
