Ready for the first training session in the United States

Benfica's professional football team arrived in Tampa, Florida, in the early hours of Monday, June 9, where it will continue its preparations for the 2025 Club World Cup, a tournament organized by FIFA that will take place in the United States between June 14 and July 13.

After a peaceful journey lasting approximately eight hours, the delegation led by President Rui Costa arrived at Tampa International Airport at around 3:05 am local time (8:05 am mainland time).

At 6:15 pm local time (11:15 pm continental time), Bruno Lage's team will hold their first training session in the United States at the Waters Sportsplex in Tampa. The first 15 minutes will be open to the media. Before that (6:00 pm local time), a player will give a statement to journalists.

The Eagles are in Group C of the competition, alongside Argentina's Boca Juniors, New Zealand's Auckland City, and Germany's Bayern Munich.

Benfica's debut in the 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled for 11:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on June 16 (Monday) against Boca Juniors at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
