At the end of the first season of the technical partnership with Benfica, aimed at training athletes and coaches, Pyramids FC became Egyptian champions in the Under-15 category last Friday, April 26.

Under the coordination and mentorship of Benfica coaches Tiago Marques and Francisco Henriques, the team overcame great odds in the final stretch of the championship, achieving a run of seven consecutive victories and demonstrating the principles and values underlying the Reds' working method.

The achievement was sealed with a 4-2 win over Zamalek SC. In the league as a whole, Pyramids FC picked up 64 points in 30 games, scoring 72 goals and conceding just 27.

The newly crowned five-time national champions, Benfica's women's football team, were present at the Benfica Official Store at the Estádio da Luz on Tuesday afternoon, April 15. The Inspiradoras interacted with the many fans who lined up - some even waited more than two hours for the session to start - and who didn't waste the opportunity to talk to the protagonists of the historic feat and remember the moment with photographs. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone left satisfied. “Filipa, you're the best coach in the world,” said one Benfica fan.

Benfica-Arouca: extended match highlights

Benfica drew (2-2) with Arouca on Sunday, April 13, in a match from matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, played at the Estádio da Luz and marked by controversial refereeing that penalized the Eagles. At half-time there was time to pay tribute to two-time European champion José Augusto (who turned 88), Miccoli (the former player returned to the Cathedral) and the Inspiradoras, who became five-time national champions on Saturday.

Miccoli honored at Estádio da Luz

Miccoli returned to the Estádio da Luz, where, on Sunday, April 13, during half-time of the Benfica-Arouca (2-2) match of round 29 of the Liga Betclic, he once again set foot on the pitch. Proud and grateful to the Benfica fans and the club, the former striker - who wore the Manto Sagrado in 2005/06 and 2006/07 - was greeted with applause from the fans, who watched images of some of his best moments with the eagle on his chest, in this beautiful tribute! “Go Benfica! Always,” shared the former player.
