Marit Lund and Christy Ucheibe, players of the women's football team of Benfica, were on international duty this Sunday, July 6.

At Stade Tourbillon in Sion (Switzerland), Marit Lund was part of Norway's starting lineup in their 2-1 victory over Finland on matchday 2 of the 2025 Euro. With two wins in as many games, the Norwegians secured early qualification for the quarterfinals.

Christy Ucheibe came on at half-time in Nigeria's opening match in Group B of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations: a 3-0 victory over Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca (Morocco).

Trained at Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Renato Sanches returned home in August 2024, on a one-year loan from PSG. Throughout the 2024/25 season, the midfielder made in Benfica played in 21 games and scored 1 goal, making a significant contribution to the club's 8th League Cup victory. SL Benfica wishes Renato Sanches all the best.
