Mário Branco, Benfica's general director for professional football, reacted to the result of the draw for the Champions League play-off, which took place on Monday, August 4, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, which determined that the Eagles will face the winner of the Feyenoord-Fenerbahçe tie, surpassing the French team Nice.

"As had already happened in the draw for the third qualifying round, with Nice, once again, in theory, the most difficult opponents came out. Interestingly, Fenerbahçe and Feyenoord were in the last two editions of the Eusébio Cup, and last season, SL Benfica also faced Feyenoord in the Champions League. Right now, we are totally focused on Nice and there is no point in looking further ahead. The Super Cup victory was very important for the team's confidence, but that is now in the past. Our energy and thoughts are exclusively on the tie with Nice," said Mário Branco, in statements to the Club's media, after the ceremony he attended.
